GSTCalculator.net provides free calculators for working out Goods and Services Tax (GST). The website includes country-specific calculators for jurisdictions that call their consumption tax GST, together with a flexible calculator for entering another GST rate.
GSTCalculator.net is part of the Calculators World family of calculator websites. Calculators World is an independent online calculator publisher serving users in Canada, Europe and worldwide.
What you can calculate
The calculators can determine:
- the GST amount from a price excluding GST;
- the total price including GST; and
- the price excluding GST when the GST-inclusive total is known.
Country pages may also provide current rates, historical information, calculation examples and links to the relevant tax authority. Because exemptions, zero-rated supplies, reduced rates and special rules differ, the calculator cannot determine which rate applies to a particular transaction.
How the calculations work
For a GST-exclusive price, the calculator uses these formulas:
GST amount = GST-exclusive price × GST rate ÷ 100
GST-inclusive price = GST-exclusive price + GST amount
When a GST-inclusive price is entered, the calculator reverses the calculation:
GST-exclusive price = GST-inclusive price ÷ (1 + GST rate ÷ 100)
GST amount = GST-inclusive price − GST-exclusive price
Calculated values are rounded to two decimal places. An invoice or accounting system may produce a slightly different result when it rounds individual line items instead of the final total.
Rates and sources
We review rate-sensitive pages using official tax-authority or government sources wherever practical. A standard GST rate does not necessarily apply to every product, service or transaction. The country calculator page should be treated as the primary place for its applicable rate, source and verification information.
GST systems change. Countries may amend their rates, introduce special treatment or replace GST with another tax. For example, Malaysia replaced GST with Sales and Service Tax (SST) in 2018, while Egypt uses VAT rather than GST. Historical pages may remain available to explain such changes, but obsolete systems are not presented as current GST calculators.
Important changes are recorded in the website’s calculator updates and annual GST summaries when appropriate.
Testing and corrections
Calculator changes are tested using sample GST-exclusive, GST-inclusive and GST-amount values. We also check that reverse calculations return the expected result and that the displayed rate matches the rate configured for the selected country.
If you find a possible rate, calculation, wording or broken-link problem, please contact us and include:
- the page address;
- the rate and values you entered;
- the result you received;
- the result you expected; and
- an official source link, if available.
